The NSW Geographical Names Board (GNB) is committed to reawakening Aboriginal place names in New South Wales and prefers the use of Aboriginal names for geographical features. The GNB aims to increase the use of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander place names to strengthen cultural awareness and reinforce the use of Aboriginal language.
