PUBLIC EVENT: PULiiMA PANEL
PULiiMA: Making Voice
Sunday 18 August @ 1.30-2.30pm
Charles Darwin University
As part of the Darwin Festival, PULiiMA has organised a special panel of speakers from the conference to share their stories with the general public. These speakers include: Candace Kaleimamoowahinekapu Galla (Native Hawaiian), Phillemon Mosby (Torres Strait Islands), Karina Lester (Yankunytjatjara Anangu, South Australia), Leitha Assan (Torres Strait Islands) and Daryn McKenny (Gamillaray, and PULiiMA event director) who will discuss their experiences and ideas with Festival audiences.
DISCOUNT OFFER TO SEE TROY KINGI
PULIiMA 2019 delegates also receive a discount to see Troy Kingi perform at part of the Darwin Festival.
After the backyard blues and psychedelic sci-fi soul of his first two albums, Māori actor and musician Troy Kingi heads across the ditch with a swag of awards and a new record on the way. Expect a hard-hitting early roots reggae sound and powerful lyrics that focus on issues affecting the world’s Indigenous peoples. Kingi will be a recognisable face for those who saw The Hunt for the Wilderpeople, but onstage with a guitar in his hand he’s sure to cast a spell over music lovers.
