The International Decade of Indigenous Languages 2022-2023 – Australian Launch

A decade provides enough time for a generation of children to learn their language and time to fulfill the core undertaking of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages to “Leave no one behind, no one outside” – by 2032.

This is the Australian launch of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages. The event will bring together language experts from around the world to share their stories and perspectives. It will showcase through performance our own Indigenous languages with an opportunity to hear from the partnership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander language experts and the Australian Government collaborating to reverse the loss of languages – to once again survive and thrive, when they reveal Voices of Country, Australia’s Action Plan.
